Ochre Paint is the minimalist, multi-platform home for your Procreate® artwork.

For this initial release, the focus is squarely on full compatibility with Proceate. To the point of launching without drawing and brush formats of our own.

Although we will soon launch our own formats, we will always target being the unofficial home-away-from-home for Procreate artists on other platforms, with effortless reading and writing of Procreate files.

What's next

We plan to launch the .ochre drawing format in the beginning of 2026, with major additions being an effectively infinite canvas, svg layers and advanced layer options (layers with different sizes, blend modes of layer groups, etc.).

Looking further ahead, we plan to launch our own open-ended node-based brush system in the first half of 2026.

Our Story

Development of Ochre Paint began in late 2019 with an ambitious goal: to create a modern painting app powered by a flexible, node-based brush system. We wanted a system powerful enough to replicate any Procreate brush, but without the limitations of fixed settings.

This was a massive undertaking for our small, primarily solo team, requiring us to put the project on hold several times. This initial release is a focused stepping stone toward that original vision, which remains our ultimate destination.
